WZO - NEW YEAR'S PARTY 2009

Dear WZO Members & guests

Following the success of a great WZO Yearly garden BBQ party held at Mr & Mrs Burns dream home last Sunday 23rd August 2009, it was a pleasure being with you all yesterday, Saturday 29th August at another WZO New Year's celebration

Lynn, Noel and myself from Black Velvet/Velvet Touch enjoyed providing some light hearted background music followed by music for dancing.

Something that could not be missed is observing how your wonderful WZO members support the cause for the needful in India-Bombay etc., and in a short space of time large sums of money was donated by your members followed by a quick fundraising call by Mr. R Irani where over £1,300 was raised by just 13 members donating £100 each. What a great support.

It was also wonderful to observe that a very young member from your community (sorry name has skipped my mind) recently donated £2,500 and this is really something special to see how your enterprising wealthy high society community do so much good. Wish other communities could follow. Keep up the great work and keep united as always.

P.S. Whilst I had a few moments to spare I took a few photos in a hurry but sorry to say the quality was not too good perhaps due low lighting (poor cameraman I guess blaming his tools!!) but as a token of rememberance, I have enclosed the photos which can be viewed below.

ANNUAL CHARITY BBQ

Dear Mr. Rohinton Irani
cc: WZO Members & Guests

Thank you for inviting Velvet Touch Duo, on behalf of your members, to provide some light hearted entertainment at your grand fund-raising garden party which we greatly enjoyed and what can we say - the weather was just great with the sun shining all afternoon making it a perfect day.

Hosts, Mr & Mrs Alex & Valerie Burns are just a wonderful couple for kindly giving their dream home for your yearly event and above all, what I was told by some of the members how they support your good cause and with the money they have kindly donated in the past and now is just beyond anyones dream. They are certainly blessed and their generosity in helping the needful in such a big way will never be forgotten by all those who benefit from their help.

It was a pleasure being around to share such a lovely day.
Lynn and myself enjoyed the kind hospitality where we too were well looked after with all the wonderful food and drinks.

I am so proud to be amongst your community over all these years and often many folks say 'Benny is a Parsi'.

I cannot forget to mention the lovely dancing with the wonderful Persian music and as such you can view a short clip of the happy dancing folks. Convey my thanks to the 3 ladies who sang so well and not forgetting you too for your piece of entertainment with your Elvis singing and of course speaking in Persian which was very entertaining.

Whilst enjoying the lovely afternoon entertaining with our live music, and when I had a few moments to spare, I took some photographs with my little camera which I have enclosed on the link below.

To view the Kodak Gallery photo album which does not take up any space on your computer or laptop, just click on the link titled WZO Garden Party Photos and wait a few seconds for the photos to load, then click above to view slideshow.
